DODGEBALL RULES
Special thanks to Robert "Movie Critic" Taylor for developing these rules:

1.     A team consists of five players or more (any combination of men and women).

2.     The balls will be placed at center court. Players must start behind their own baseline before the start of play. At the whistle, players rush forward to the center line to obtain balls for their side. At this time, balls must be tagged back to the baseline before being thrown at opposing players.

3.     A no-man's land exists in the center court. Players may advance to the opposing side's yellow line (at the basketball free-throw line). This is done to advance game play.

4.     Players will be called out if a thrown ball hits them on the fly. Head shots are strongly discouraged.

5.     Once a ball hits an object (person, wall, ceiling, basketball backboard) then that ball is a dead ball. If a ball hits a person and bounces up, then the person that the ball hit must catch the ball in order to get the other person out and to avoid being out.

6.     If a ball hits another ball, which a player has in their possession, it does not make either player out. If the ball is dropped as a result of contact from the thrown ball, then the player who drops the ball is out.

7.     All players are confined to the field of play. Players may intentionally leave the playing area on their own side of the playing floor to retrieve a ball. If a player goes out of bounds to avoid getting out, the player will be called them out. If a ball is thrown into the bleachers, it must be given to the team that is on that side.

8.  If a player is stalling, or making no attempt to play a ball, they must roll the ball to the other side. A player may be called out at the official’s or supervisor’s discretion for continuously stalling to avoid an outcome of the game.

9.  Once a player is out, they must immediately leave the floor and sit on the sideline behind their own baseline.   Players who have been called out can retrieve stray balls for their teammates as long as the ball is on their side and they do not step on the field of play.

10.   All decisions by officials are final; ARGUING DECISIONS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Players arguing after a warning will be penalized by disqualification from the remainder of a game or match, or ejected from the game. The Supervisor will rule on any situation not specifically covered in the rules.
